Our history

Nonna Lidia’s family history is a fascinating tale that begins in the early 1900s, when Aunt Fedè returned to Chiavari after making her fortune in Argentina. Her determination and commitment enabled her to achieve success and realise her dreams.

With her new wealth, Aunt Fedè decided to buy the entire building where the ‘Nonna Lidia’ flat is now located. This building became a tangible symbol of her prosperity and her desire to create a solid base for her family.

In later years, ownership of the building was passed down to her grandchildren, who kept the family tradition alive. Grandmother Lidia, daughter of Davide Defilippi, a wise man who lived for almost a century, represents the legacy of wisdom and deep family roots.

Our family today

Today ‘Nonna Lidia’ is run with love and dedication by Lidia’s daughter Cristina, together with her son-in-law Marco and her grandsons Davide and Nicolò. This family management is reflected in the warm and welcoming atmosphere you will find during your stay. The flat is named after Grandma Lidia, a tribute to the history and legacy of this extraordinary family.

As a guest of ‘Nonna Lidia’, you will be part of our family, at least for the days of your holiday on the beautiful Riviera Ligure di Levante. We will be happy to share our history with you and create an authentic and meaningful experience that will make you feel at home.
